Wrangler and Showoff
Big Ben is actually pretty small. He's the youngest of the
wranglers at Rancho Relaxo -- but, turn him loose on a horse and no
tellin' what he's gonna do next. He says he might like to be a
marshall like Hank Clark over in town but in the next breath he allows
as how he jus' might join the circus instead! Now, Ben's been
ridin' since he was eight 'n a-half. Now, he's nine.
An' while he's purty good at cleanin' up the stalls an' all, he's become
a dang good rider. Not long ago, he calls us over and wants to
show us his "new trick." Well, we all thought we'd be
po-lite an' watch his "trick." Danged if he didn't jump
up on Master Boots -- a 16.4-hand thoroughbred whose as mean
an' onery as they come -- and ride him at a gallop -- STANDIN'
on his back -- an' on ONE FOOT!
It's a real "trick" that's fer sure.
